One does not preserve peace by selling weapons of war.
Oh dear America. Have ye learned nothing about arms sales? China need only call in some of the debts it has and can cripple your economy.
Watching Hamlet on bbc4. Didn't see it in December. An interesting version with David Tennett.
More obscure and wonderful music CDs to add to iTunes. Rummage section of Head always worth a gander :-)

Friday 29 January 2010

Love the new bbc trailer for the Winter Olympics. Can't wait!!
It's difficult to argue with some of what Blair said today especially the '2010 question' however it's also hard to justify war for anything
Noone said anything about blizards! I had to ride home through it. Not a very peasant experience at all. Snow, wind, cold and potholes!
Ah...common sense has prevaled and someone's switched from Radio 1 to Radio 6. Less kiddie pop!

Thursday 28 January 2010

From what I'm reading apple's new ibooks service locks down with DRM the ePUB books for ipad only. No transfer to my Sony Reader. :-(
Fresh bread cooking. White bread sadly. Not rye, wholegrain or spelt flour left. No matter. Will still be tasty!
Very oddball neighbour has resumed his filming of who comes in and out of my home with his CCTV camera. He needs to get out more I think!

Right....off to the shops for some things. Into the cold cold air.
Everybody wanted apple to release an ipad but now it's out, we ask ourselves, I still don't understand why I need one despite all it can do!
Okay! Very confused now. WTF is a GSM Micro SIM card? No phone or network I know uses them and Yahoo! comes up blank! Apple????
I'm being swamped with incoming RSS feeds. Need an Apple free zone for a bit. Cup of tea I think.
iPad. Unnecessary. Unsure what to do with it. And yet, strangely desirable none the less. More of a toy presently.

Tuesday 26 January 2010

Decided to use left over veggy haggis to stuff a couple of peppers, cover in olive oil and roast in oven. To serve with salad when ready.
Cheap, funny and one of the best things on bbc4. http://tinyurl.com/ydz6j53

A tag too much salt in the swede, but I worked through it by drinking more whisky. 15 year old Glenlivit French Oak Reserve. Mmmm
Will we need a very large glass of water for an Apple Tablet?
A shimering beastie of a vegetarian haggis is steaming away ready to accompany the tatties and neeps helped along with generous drams of joy.
I had forgotten how much I hate riding from Bath at night in the cold.
Office radio with Radio 1! And in an office full of grown ups too! Blimey! Very retro!
Head shaved, face shaved, washed, ironed shirt and trousers, packed bag, charged telephone, now eating porridge and drinking tea.
Hard to get out of bed this morning. Still new job to start. Just wish I was more enthusiatic. I should be, but cannot find it in me.

enjoying a cup of Lady Grey and gooie caramel slice.
Off out for a walk. Need to get some air.
What surprises me about the fake bomb detection device is how why the seller thought he wouldn't be found out. No morals or just a fool?
There's a certain irony to a watch which runs by light and yet is usually under ones sleeve.

Friday 22 January 2010

Not sure about this series about the navy on BBC2. Seems too emotive, flag waving and lacking objectivity.
Sucked into a wonderful programme on BBC4 about Sibelius. Stunning music.
Think I'll do some reading. Robert Service's biography of Trotsky yet to be read. Fresh beer at the ready and spaghetti boiling happily.
Foolishly just opened a bag of Hans Freitag's waffers. Just a mistake, I won't be able to stop! Nom Nom Nom!
Time to go to the shops in the rain. Koshka curled up beside me. Rather stay here but needs much.
Another Uni course signed up for. Governing Europe now on the timetable. Woo Hoo!
Point is, wrong for politicians to claim moral superiority and fake past times as a place where such things never occured.
Cameron not digging too far into Tory history (http://tinyurl.com/ychgm5l), let's not forget James Bulger incident occured under their tenue.

Thursday 21 January 2010

Buying the new Brian Jonestown Massacre album on iTunes. Track names becoming even more offensive but music is still simply stunning!
Making a lovely madras curry. Spices and seeds frying away.

Started off well, but a bit silly about the access to almost anything under the sun from the agents computers. Still, it's just a bit of fun
Watching the Bourne Ultimatium. Action packed start! Promising.
Perhaps damp and sticky more than wet is a more correct description. It's a small area but bugging the hell out of me.
Time to head to the shops for cleaning materials. Anyone have any ideas on how to dry out a seemingly always wet piece of carpet?
Sunny day, however I am feeling in a blue mood.

Saturday 16 January 2010

Checking flats to rent in Spain....just in case. Cheap and pretty!
Wondering why we don't eat califlower leaves more often? They are edible and quite tasty.
Just heard @watsoncomedian with @misterwallace's show on 6music. Such a funny guy! Agreed the right wing policy review on TV was foolish.

Tiny mountains of snow left in an otherwise wet and miserable landscape.

Friday 15 January 2010

Is it just me or is Emilia Fox truely a foxy Babe?

Another beer may be necessary. Well, perhaps not necessary, but certainly desirable :-)
Why do I always walk past Speckled Hen for others? Tis a fantastic ale! Lovely flavour!
Miserable day, but at least it's warm. Having a nice cup of tea and malted milk creams. Still nibbling around the cow in the centre.
Off for a walk and quick trip to the shops for some condiments. :-)
Quite warm today in the rain. Snow vanishing as fast as the contents of my bank account.

I will call this empty glass my Kierkegaard moment and consider it's significance for a while before refilling with another beer.
Perhaps the emptiness of the beer glass is having an existencial effect on my mind and sense of reality?
Then again, time is relative to the observor so perhaps it makes no difference to others what time I watch Time as my time is my own.
Ah...Time is repeated on BBC4. Should I use iPlayer to replay time at a later time or another time, or watch Time on time?
